Christian Pulisic spotted at youth camp with brace on injured right leg

Even injured, Christian Pulisic can't stay off the field.

Three days after suffering a bone bruise and a microfracture of his right tibia/fibula during the U.S. men's national team loss to Beligum in the round of 16, Pulisic visited a camp in Florida put on by his foundation. Pulisic was wearing a brace on his injured right leg in photos released by the Pulisic Foundation.

"Soon after returning from the World Cup, Christian came to visit kids at his foundation’s training session," the foundation wrote in the caption. "Lots of signing, smiling, and inspiration for the future generation! This is what it’s all about."

Pulisic left the USMNT's last World Cup game on Monday, July 6, in the 59th minute after a collision with Belgium's Youri Tielemans, and he said after the game that he'd "twisted my ankle and my knee in one play." He had an MRI and X-ray the day after the game, and U.S. Soccer announced on Wednesday, July 8, that he'd sustained a bone bruise and microfracture.

U.S. Soccer and AC Milan, Pulisic's club team, will work on his recovery plan.

The injury was Pulisic's second of the World Cup. He left at halftime of the opener against Paraguay after aggravating a left calf injury, and missed the Australia game. He did not play the first half of the group-stage finale against Turkey, but came in for the second half.

Pulisic started the round-of-32 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as the Belgium game.

"With one earlier and then another injury now, it just sucked. It was tough. It was difficult for me to deal with," said Pulisic, who said he was "disappointed" with his personal performance at the World Cup.

"But we have a great team," he added. "There's so many guys that stepped up this tournament, that should be really (the focus)."
