After scheduling his first official visit for September, Iowa basketball's coveted 2027 5-star target has been named to Team USA's U17 World Cup roster.
After scheduling a trip to Iowa City in September as his first official recruiting visit, Iowa basketball's coveted 2027 5-star point guard target Cayden Daughtry has been named to Team USA's U17 World Cup roster, according to USA Basketball's announcement on June 19.
The 6-foot, 160-pound point guard from Calvary Christian Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is a five-star prospect, per 247Sports. On that list, Daughtry is the No. 10 player overall, the No. 5 player in Florida, and the No. 3 point guard nationally.
According to ESPN, Daughtry is the No. 12 prospect and the No. 4 point guard nationally and the top player in Florida. Daughtry is the No. 22 player and the No. 7 point guard nationally and the No. 4 player in the Sunshine State, per Rivals.

The Hawkeyes offered Daughtry on July 12, 2025, and they are among the leading contenders for his commitment along with Michigan, Miami and Florida State. Daughtry also has offers from fellow power programs BYU, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, UConn, and Villanova.
In his summer play, Daughtry leads the EYBL in scoring with an average of 23.7 points per game for the Florida Rebels, where he is also second in the EYBL in assists.
The 2026 FIBA U17 Men’s World Cup is scheduled from June 27 to July 5 in Istanbul, Turkey, with Team USA's first contest against France on June 27 at 12:30 p.m. CT.
