France struggles to deal with new heatwave amid punishing temperatures

The head of the French state-owned railway operator warned incidents could not be ruled out due to the high temperatures. The heatwave is having a strong impact on the rail network and ​can deform tracks and damage overhead electrical lines. This comes as many schools have also been forced to closed down.
