2026 Field High School football schedule, first glance

Check out our first glance at the 2026 Field football team, including a new but familiar Week 1 opponent.
Field has a new but highly familiar Week 1 opponent, Ravenna.
The Falcons and Ravens have played every season since 2005, but always during league play (Week 4 at the earliest). That streak was at risk this year. Although Field and Ravenna remain in the same league for one final year before the Ravens head to the Greater Portage Athletic Conference, this season's 10-team Metro Athletic Conference led to a schedule in which some league teams won't play one another in football. Ravenna isn't one of Field's seven league opponents this year, so instead the Ravens will be a nonleague opener.
The Falcons' schedule is filled with all sorts of quirks, including three new MAC opponents, Cuyahoga Falls (Week 5), Roosevelt (Week 6) and Tallmadge (Week 9). And, again, there's familiarity despite the newness.
The Falcons and Blue Devils used to meet on an annual basis, through the 2004 season. The Falcons and Rough Riders faced off every year from 2005 to 2014 when both were members of the Portage Trail Conference's Metro Division.
Cuyahoga Falls is a different story. The Falcons haven't faced the Black Tigers in at least half a century.
Coming off a 3-7 season, Field has early chances to gain momentum in 2026. Three of the Falcons' first five foes had a losing record in 2025 and four of their 10 overall opponents won three games or fewer last year. Field also won't have to spend much time on the bus, three of the Falcons' five road games are less than eight miles away.
