Pair of former Dolphins named to All-PFF Team of last 20 years
Article excerpt
The Miami Dolphins don't have the most talented roster in the league right now, but two of their former players are earning respect for their careers.
The Miami Dolphins, after all of the moves that they made this offseason, are left with a roster that's lacking the top-level talent necessary to be a truly competitive team in the NFL.
However, over the last two decades, they've had some great players. In fact, Pro Football Focus released their All-PFF Team for the last 20 years on Monday, and two former Dolphins made the cut.
Let's take a look at who they recognized for their accomplishments:
WR Tyreek Hill
Hill has been incredible in his six years with the Kansas City Chiefs and four with the Dolphins, catching 819 passes for 11,363 yards and 83 touchdowns. He also made eight Pro Bowls, four All-Pro teams and won one Super Bowl.
The 32-year-old, who is still unsigned on the market, was the last wide receiver on the All-PFF team, joining Julio Jones, Antonio Brown, DeAndre Hopkins, Davante Adams and Calvin Johnson.
OL Evan Mathis
Mathis spent three seasons with the Carolina Panthers from 2005-07, before joining the Dolphins for part of the 2008 season, where he helped along the offensive line for seven games. He went on to play eight more seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, Philadelphia Eagles, Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals.
The 44-year-old, who retired in 2016, made two Pro Bowls, one All-Pro team and won a Super Bowl with Denver.
Per PFF, Mathis received a positive grade on 20.2% of his run blocks, the most of any guard. He recorded a negative grade on 7.4% of plays which is the lowest rate of any guard.
