The team did so following a dominant 2-1 win over five-time World Cup winners, Brazil. It’s obvious one man has made it all possible, Erling Haaland.
The Manchester City superstar has already bagged seven goals in his first-ever World Cup appearance and this has led to some interesting conversations.

NBA fans believe Erling Haaland’s perfect comparison is Giannis Antetokounmpo
With the US being one of the hosts of the World Cup, fans from other sports, such as basketball, have been watching the tournament closely. As a result, many fans are comparing the top soccer names to stars of other leagues.
Following Haaland’s insane performance vs. Brazil, an X fan asked for his NBA equivalent.
Without thinking much, a fan wrote, “Giannis. Two absolute freaks of nature are best at what they do. Generational impact.” While another added, “It’s Giannis.”
“It’s obviously Giannis,” a third fan added. A fourth fan pointed out, “Current best comp is indeed Giannis. Historically, the best comp is probably Shaq.”
“Erling Haaland is just football’s Giannis Antetokounmpo. Insane physical frame, terrifying speed on the counter, and a complete cheat code close to the rim,” a fifth fan clearly stated.
Most fans believe that Miami Heat superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is the best comparison for Haaland. Both are known for their freakish athleticism and ability to score with ease.
