‘Kiki’s Delivery Service’ Live-Action Series Set at BBC Studios, Kadokawa and Wheel in Motion

BBC Studios Kids & Family, U.K. production company Wheel in Motion, and Japan's Kadokawa Corporation are partnering to develop the first live-action television series based on Eiko Kadono's novel "Kiki's Delivery Service." The project, currently in development, will consist of 10 half-hour episodes aimed at family audiences. The collaboration marks a significant expansion for the beloved property, which has previously been adapted into Hayao Miyazaki's acclaimed animated film and other animated projects. The partnership brings together British television expertise, Japanese creative oversight, and independent production know-how to bring the coming-of-age story of a young witch to the screen.
