A barge of Miller Lite beer docked in the port of Miami ahead of tonight’s World Cup showdown between Scotland and Brazil. Call it a floating advertisement or call it a godsend; however you want to look at it, fans in Florida will surely put the resupply to good use.

Between 10,000 and 20,000 Scottish soccer fans, otherwise known as the Tartan Army, have descended upon Miami for a much-anticipated match at the Hard Rock Stadium. Videos circulating online show flags, bagpipers and kilts galore marching through the streets of the Magic City as Scotland prepares to face off against the most successful national team in FIFA World Cup history.

Locals are already anticipating a booze shortage, and for good reason. Following Scotland’s 1-0 victory over Haiti last week, Boston bars and convenience stores were flooded with unprecedented demand that left many scrambling to restock. According to the Boston Beer Company, fans consumed roughly four times the amount of Samuel Adams beer compared to a typical four-day holiday weekend, forcing the brand to arrange an emergency lager delivery.

From the looks of it, Miller Lite sensed an opportunity in the making.

On Tuesday, the brand announced it was sending a barge complete with beer, bagpipers and a freight container decorated with the slogan “Restock the Scots.” The shipment was accompanied by a Miller Lite-branded pontoon, on which Scottish artist and former professional footballer Craig Black sailed into the city.

The barge reportedly docked at various spots across the area, welcoming visitors over the age of 21. A spokesperson told Men’s Journal that the shipment made its final stop last night, adding that the entirety of its cargo has been distributed to local partners.

Chances are, the last-minute resupply will only be a drop in the bucket for the Tartan Army. Though Miami bars have had ample time to prepare, the likelihood of a Scottish win at tonight’s game will throw all bets out of the window.

“Come tomorrow night, if we manage to beat Brazil, like I’m using your words now, if we manage to beat Brazil, then I’m sure maybe a couple of beers will be drank by the Tartan Army, that’s for sure,” Scottish team Captain Andy Robertson told Reuters on Tuesday.

“But that’s what we hope, because we want to give them something to shout about. We want to give them something to be happy about and, obviously, also if we win the game then we’ve created history.”
