The historic moment came when Sooryavanshi launched left-arm seamer Dulaj Samuditha straight down the ground for his fifth six of the innings, bringing up a remarkable fifty and rewriting the List A record books.

In the third over the left-hander clobbered 26 runs off Mohamed Shiraz’s over. After failing to cross the 50-run mark throughout the competition (14, 44, 21 and 38), Sooryavanshi stepped up big time in the final and eventually ended with a 29-ball 94, to lay a solid foundation for India A in the Ti Nation final at Dambulla.
