Over the weekend, concerning allegations surfaced surrounding former ESPN talent and NFL football player Marcellus Wiley. According to Awful Announcing, Wiley was arrested on Saturday after police responded to an alleged domestic battery incident.

Per Awful Announcing, Wiley was released on Monday from Orange County jail after posting a $1,000 bond. Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio reported that Wiley’s wife asked officers to “remove her husband from their shared hotel room due to her being afraid of him,” saying that Wiley “told [her] he was going to kill her and [she] was afraid of his behavior.”

Wiley’s wife said “on the previous morning Marcellus had put his hands on her,” by using “one finger to sternly and intentionally poke her in the cheek,” after being asked by officers to elaborate on what took place.

Following his release on Monday, Wiley has taken to X to respond to the allegations.

“I’m deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and concern for me and my itty bitties. Your support is fully appreciated. I completely and unequivocally deny these allegations, and I’m certain the truth will prevail,” Wiley posted.

“As you know, I’m usually the first to break down the truth and separate facts from fiction. But because this is now a legal matter, and because my greatest responsibility is protecting my babies, who have already been impacted, I have to handle this differently. When I can speak freely, I absolutely will.

“Until then, thank you for your patience, your prayers, and for continuing to stand with me. Much Luv.”

The new allegations surrounding Wiley come in the middle of an ongoing sexual assault case involving seven accusers, including a former ESPN production assistant who alleges that Wiley raped her while they both worked at the network.
