The Broncos have agreed to terms on a 4-year rookie contract with DL Tyler Onyedim.
The Denver Broncos have agreed to terms on a four-year rookie contract with defensive lineman Tyler Onyedim, the club's first pick in this year's NFL draft. The news was first reported by the Denver Post's Luca Evans.
The Broncos traded out of the second round in April and used their ensuing third-round pick to select Onyedim out of Texas A&M. As the 66th overall pick in the draft, Onyedim is slated to have a base salary of $7,385,370 over four seasons, according to Spotrac.com. His base salary as a rookie will be $1,342,794 in 2026.
Onyedim (6-3, 292 pounds) spent four years at Iowa State before transferring to the Aggies ahead of the 2025 season. He totaled 48 tackles (8.5 behind the line), 2.5 sacks and one forced fumble in 13 games last fall.
Onyedim now joins a defensive line rotation that already featured Zach Allen, D.J. Jones and Malcolm Roach. Onyedim will presumably get an opportunity to compete for John Franklin-Myers' old spot, with Sai'vion Jones and Eyioma Uwazurike also contending for that role.
After previously signing safety Miles Scott, tight end Justin Joly, linebacker Red Murdock, tight end Dallen Bentley, offensive lineman Kage Casey and running back Jonah Coleman, Denver has now signed all seven members of its 2026 NFL draft class. Fans will get their first looks at the rookies when training camp begins in late July.
