Elijah Upson has visited the Arsenal training ground as he considers his next move following his exit from Tottenham Hotspur, according to the Daily Mail. The 18-year-old defender turned down the professional terms offered by the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club and is pondering joining the Gunners. The Emirates Stadium club could lose 16-year-old prodigy Kyran Thompson to Spurs after his contract ended, and Upson could move in the opposite direction to join Arsenal.
However, the teenage defender has yet to make a final decision despite checking out the Sobha Realty Training Centre. The likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Everton, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and AS Monaco are also keen on Upson. He has been visiting some of these clubs and is expected to make a decision later this month. He left Tottenham after 11 years having featured for them at under-17, under-18, and under-21 levels. The Arsenal target was part of the Spurs squad who won the under-17 Premier League Cup in 2024-25.
Upson’s pace and athleticism are some of the qualities which have attracted the Gunners and others to him.
