Researchers at the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute have pinpointed how extracellular vesicles derived from mesenchymal stromal cells dampen inflammation. The discovery, published in the Journal of Extracellular Vesicles, identifies a specific molecular mechanism that regulates these vesicles' anti-inflammatory effects. The finding could unlock new therapeutic approaches for treating inflammatory diseases and conditions involving tissue damage from insufficient blood flow.
