Norway vs. Brazil prediction, picks, odds, betting preview, start time for 2026 World Cup match on Sunday
Article excerpt
Norway and Brazil meet in the Round of 16 on Sunday with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals
MEXICO CITY, Mexico is staring down history.
They've already made plenty of it in their first four matches of the World Cup. They swept Group A, accumulating nine points for the first time. They beat Ecuador in the round of 32 for their first knockout stage win since 1986; don't forget they've done all that without conceding a single goal to this point.
And now, they have a chance to punch their ticket to the quarterfinal at Estadio Azteca, a feat only accomplished by that 1986 squad. England stands in their way, however, with some history of their own in this stadium.
The Three Lions like to play fast and run in space, not too dissimilarly to Mexico's previous opponent. With that in mind, don't expect manager Javier Aguirre to make too many tweaks to the Starting XI that had so much success against Ecuador.
Here's USA TODAY Sports' projected lineup for Mexico vs. England in the round of 16:
