Florida State football added a major piece to its 2027 class on Tuesday, earning a commitment from four-star athlete Za’Kari Johnson.
He’s considered the No. 21 athlete in the 2027 class by the 247Sports Composite Rankins, No. 349 overall.
The 6-foot-1, 196-pound prospect out of Opa Locka chose the Seminoles over offers from Georgia, Indiana, Miami, Florida and Auburn, amongst others.
Johnson recently made the decision to reclassify from the 2028 to 2027 class. Last season he played both quarterback and defensive back for Plantation High School, throwing for seven touchdowns and rushing for nine while accumulating 1,328 total offensive yards. On defense, he logged 10 tackles to go along with four pass breakups, a fumble recovery and an interception.
