Gayles was one of the top uncommitted receivers in the 2027 class.
Osani Gayles took three official visits to Stanford, Alabama and Washington between the end of May and early June. Those three visits went so well that he cancelled his final two officials to Notre Dame and Tennessee.
In the end, the trip to Tuscaloosa proved to be the difference-maker.
Gayles announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide on Saturday, June 27, choosing Alabama over Stanford and Washington.
According to 247Sports, the 5-foot-11.5, 185-pound IMG Academy (FL) star is ranked as the No. 34 player in the country and the No. 7 wide receiver. He's ranked as the No. 5 player out of Florida.
The latest USA TODAY composite football rankings, an average of the three major recruiting outlets, ranks Gayles as the No. 49 player in the 2027 class.
Gayles transferred to IMG Academy ahead of his junior year. Prior to that he played at St. Mary's (CA) where totaled 1,071 receiving yards and 15 total touchdowns. As a junior, he caught passes for the nationally ranked Ascenders, totaling 492 yards and five touchdowns.
