Maine sawmill, Red Mill Lumber, auctions off equipment

CASCO, Maine, Red Mill Lumber, a Casco, Maine-based sawmill and building supply company, has closed its doors and the mill's entire operation will be auctioned via webcast off on July 30.

Bids are being accepted online at lpsbid.com by Associated Auction & Liquidation Co. for the complete sawmill operation, including mat drill and rolling stock.

Kermit Schott acquired Red Mill Lumber in 1997. Brent Poperechny has served as president since 2013 following Schott's death in 2010. 

The sawmill and building supply company had originally specialized in rough sawn hemlock, sold to both retail and wholesale. Building supplies included plywood, pressure treated, framing lumber, insulation, roofing, dressed pine, and hardware.

Auction begins July 30. Pre-bidding starts July 27.
