GEAUGA COUNTY, Ohio, An Ohio-based sawmill is still smouldering from a fire that broke out on Thursday, July 2.

Multiple departments from three Ohio counties responded to the fire at Amish-owned MK Hardwoods. The fire badly damaged the facility located in Geauga County. Officials said the fire was extinguished without injuries. The owner, who was not identified, said they plan to rebuild the mill.

A witness interviewed by WYKC in Cleveland, said that he heard two big explosions. “I looked up, and there was a big plume of black smoke,” he said. “I called 911 right away. I knew it was the mill.” 

The witness added that the mill had a fire at the location a couple of years earlier.
