Recruiting Update: Texas trending for 4-star RB Landen Williams-Callis
Article excerpt
Texas recruiting has been on fire since June 1st and it doesn't seem to be stopping. The new name to watch is four-star RB Landen Williams-Callis.
Texas recruiting has been on fire in the summer, gaining 12 commits since June 1st and vaulting into the top 5 classes. The most recent addition, Ismael Camara, was the third five-star in Steve Sarkisian’s class and it seems he won’t be the last. Landen Williams-Callis, a five-star RB out of Richmond, Texas, is a name to watch as July continues.
On3 Inside Texas scribe Justin Wells has placed a prediction for the RB to land in Austin. He joins his colleagues, Eric Nahlin and Charlie Williams, that placed predictions in Texas’ favor after his visit to Texas. Ever since that visit, Texas has been viewed as the favorite in this recruitment and could be closing in on a commitment it seems.

Williams-Callis stands at just 5-8, 190lbs but brings truly elite speed to the table. As a sophomore in high school, he ran a 10.65 100-meter dash and a 22.25 200-meter. That speed is well-founded when you see who his cousin is. Former Oregon State star RB and WR, Jaquizz and James Rodgers are Williams-Callis’ cousins. Both played in the NFL, following their father and Williams-Callis’ uncle Michael Lewis.
The numbers on the football field align with his NFL family ties, producing insane numbers at 5A Richmond Randle High School. In 2025, he rushed for 3,502 yards in 16 games(218.9 per game) and 59 TDs on the ground. He added 266 receiving yards, a receiving TD, a passing TD and a kick return TD. In his freshman and sophomore campaigns, he combined for nearly 4,000 rushing yards and 66 TDs. He’s an electric playmaker that is a danger to score any time he touches the ball.

Now, that’s not to say Texas doesn’t have its fair share of challengers. Houston and SMU have become the two teams to watch outside of the Longhorns in this recruitment. However, it seems Texas is running in front and the earlier a commitment comes, the better for them. If Texas earns the commitment, they’ll add another five-star offensive playmaker to the 2026 class, joining Easton Royal.
