CAR-T cells enhanced with navigation system to penetrate lymph nodes more efficiently
Article excerpt
Researchers have engineered CAR-T cells with a built-in navigation system to better penetrate lymph nodes, addressing a major limitation of the immunotherapy. CAR-T therapy, which reprograms patients' own immune cells to hunt tumor cells, has transformed blood cancer treatment, delivering long-lasting remissions and cures for many. But the approach frequently fails against lymphomas, particularly when cancer hides in lymph nodes where the engineered cells struggle to reach their targets. This enhancement could expand CAR-T's effectiveness to patients who currently don't benefit from the treatment.
