The North Wind and the Sun

The North Wind and the Sun

The North Wind and the Sun argued over which was stronger, and agreed the winner would be whoever could make a traveler remove his coat. The Wind blew hard and cold, but the man only wrapped his coat tighter. Then the Sun shone warm and gentle, and soon the traveler grew hot and took the coat off himself.

Moral: Gentle persuasion succeeds where force fails.
