A Dog carrying a bone crossed a plank over a stream. Looking down, he saw his own reflection and thought it was another dog with a bigger bone. Greedy for both, he snapped at the reflection. His own bone fell from his mouth into the water and was swept away, leaving him with nothing.

Moral: Grasp at the shadow and you may lose the substance.
