Out of Bear Lake High School in Colorado, Wesley stayed close to home when attending Colorado State. Over his four years with the Rams, he'd start 38 games as both a tackle and guard. Despite his experience and versatility, he was not selected in the 2022 NFL Draft. He'd initially sign on with the National Arena League Massachusetts Pirates before joining the Seattle Sea Dragons of the XFL in spring of 2023.
Entering the 2023 NFL offseason, Wesley was signed by the Atlanta Falcons. He was released at the end of the preseason but re-signed to the practice squad before being placed on injured reserve. At the conclusion of that season, Wesley was added back to Atlanta's roster but released again at the end of the 2024 preseason. In the spring of 2024, Wesley was signed by the Birmingham Stallions of the UFL. He'd play 10 games with the Stallions before being signed by New Orleans during the 2025 offseason. A preseason hip injury caused the Saints to place him on injured reserve to start the year. Wesley was activated before a Week 13 game at the Miami Dolphins. He didn't see a snap of action and was released afterwards, but was brought back to finish the year on the practice squad.
At the conclusion of the 2025 season, Wesley was re-signed by the Saints on a reserve/futures deal. He'll compete for a role on an improved offensive front. Barry Wesley's versatility to play either tackle or guard might give him a slight edge over some of his competition. Look for him to receive reps at both positions this summer.
