The Boston Celtics seemingly want to remain true contenders in the NBA, but are they willing to take a step back to take multiple steps forward?
On Monday, ESPN NBA insider said the Celtics' efforts to trade Jaylen Brown signal a potential intent to enter a short rebuild.
“I’ve been told they’ve asked for three, four, five first-round picks for Jaylen Brown," Windhorst said on a "Rich Eisen Show" episode. "Which leads me to believe they’re examining a short-term future where they’re not trying to win a championship.”

It's worth noting that several rumors indicate the Celtics want to amass draft assets to trade for New Orleans Pelicans forward Trey Murphy III. That would be a win-now move if they do it.
We'll just have to wait and see what happens, but all options appear to be on the table, other than trading Jayson Tatum.
