Branson Combs' tenure with the Jaguars
The Jaguars signed Combs following the 2025 NFL draft as an undrafted free agent.
Recapping Branson Combs' 2025 season
Combs was released during roster cutdowns last August before being signed to the practice squad, where he began the season. He was eventually signed to the 53-man roster, emerging as a core special teams contributor. Combs ended up playing 193 snaps over 11 games, contributing to four of the six different phases.
Looking ahead to 2026 for Branson Combs
With the starting spot next to Foye Oluokun up for grabs, Combs appears to be very much in the mix for those snaps, potentially pushing Ventrell Miller for playing time. John Shipley of Jaguars on SI wrote during offseason programs that Combs was a "true riser" and the "expectation" for him should be that he will be competing for the starting job.
Continuing to help on special teams will also likely be on Combs' plate this season as well.
"Just low-key, he's pretty athletic, like he's explosive," Liam Coen said. "He can do multiple different things in terms of coverage abilities, whether it's in man or zone. I like him in coverage. So being able to communicate at a high level is what he's needed those reps."
