A 2027 Tennessee baseball commit is named to the TSWA All-State Team.

2027 Tennessee baseball commitment Gaven French was named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Class AAA All-State Team.

French, a rising senior for Heritage High School in Maryville, Tennessee, was selected to the team as a utility player after helping his team advance to the TSSAA Class AAA state tournament for the first time in school history.

He recorded a .463 batting average, while totaling 62 hits, including 17 home runs and 16 doubles. The Tennessee commit also walked 48 times and recorded 56 RBIs.

A two-way player for the Mountaineers, French pitches, while playing second base and shortstop. He committed to the Vols and head coach Josh Elander on Nov. 5, 2025. The junior also received offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt and Clemson.

As a pitcher, French had a 9-1 record and a 1.18 ERA. He recorded 109 strikeouts in 65.1 innings pitched.
