England Star Harry Kane's 'Surreal' Golf Trip with President Trump Sparks Heated Debate

Harry Kane, captain of England’s soccer team at the 2026 World Cup, enjoyed his time on the links with President Donald Trump.

During a press conference on Friday ahead of England’s quarterfinal match against Norway on Saturday, Kane revealed that he and Trump golfed together about a year and a half ago in Florida.

“He invited me to play when I was down in Palm Beach,” Kane said. “When the president invites you somewhere, it was a pretty surreal experience just to meet him and to play golf with him.”

“His golf is pretty good to be honest with you,” Kane said of Trump’s game. “I hope I can play as well as him when I’m his age, that’s for sure.”

Trump has also shown an affinity for Kane, calling the 32-year-old striker a “GREAT player” in a Truth Social post after he led England to a 3-2 win against Mexico in Mexico City on July 5.

Trump told reporters this week that he’s a fan of the English soccer star and also complimented his golf game.

“I think Kane is a great player. I played golf with him and I like him a lot,” Trump said, according to ESPN. “He’s a good golfer too. He’s really great.”

Led by Kane, England is one of the last six teams remaining in this year’s World Cup. He has scored six goals in the tournament so far, making him a contender for the coveted Golden Boot, which is given to the player who scores the most goals in a World Cup.

England plays Norway at 5 p.m. Saturday in Miami. Should they win, they would advance to face the winner of Argentina versus Switzerland, which kicks off at 9 p.m. Saturday in Kansas City.
