3. Tennessee lumber business invests $1.3M for expansion (Posted May 22, 2026) Old South Wood Preserving plans to invest $1.3 million to expand its operations in Summertown, Tennessee. The expansion is expected to create 20 new jobs.  

4. MillerKnoll CEO Andi Owen steps down, will retire at end of month (Posted June 1, 2026) Controversial MillerKnoll Inc. president and CEO Andi Owen will officially retire on June 30, 2026, and has begun a leave of absence from the company, effective immediately.  

5. Candlelight Cabinetry gets new lease on life (Posted May 14, 2026) A newly formed management group, Candlelight Curated Inc., has acquired the operating assets of the former Candlelight Cabinetry facility in Lockport, New York.  

6. Suspect taken into custody for the shooting of two at Baker Sawmill (Posted May 19, 2026) The Clay County Sheriff Department arrested a man suspected of shooting two people at Baker Sawmill.  

7. MotoMotion acquires Canadian furniture manufacturer Palliser (Posted June 3, 2026) Upholstery manufacturer Palliser has been purchased by long-time supplier and strategic partner MotoMotion.  

8. Massive investigation underway into multi-casualty explosion (Posted May 20, 2026) Investigators conducted more than 150 interviews into the May 15 explosion at Robbins Lumber that killed one firefighter and injured 12 others, including eight first responders.

9. Silo explosion and fire at Maine lumber yard kills one firefighter (Posted May 17, 2026) A probe is underway to determine the cause of a silo explosion and massive fire at a Searsmont, Maine, lumberyard that claimed a firefighter and caused multiple injuries, including firefighters.
