A lot can happen in three years. Just ask Malin and Richard Muskala, founders of the Swedish design brand Mizetto.
In the summer of 2024, Mizetto made its North American debut at NeoCon in Chicago, where the company showcased design-forward recycling stations and the "Parker" bench.
A year later marked their grand return to The Mart, during which they established a permanent showroom and debuted the award-winning "Cargo" modular seating system. Cargo won numerous awards in 2025, including the Best of NeoCon, Interior Design HiP Award and Interior Design Best of Year Award, as well as ELLE Decoration Sweden’s “Furniture of the Year 2026” Award.

Following the international breakthrough of Cargo, Mizetto returned to NeoCon 2026, where it launched CUT, a new sculptural solid-wood table that the company says marks a new architectural chapter for the brand. At the same time, Malin and Richard Muskala relocated permanently from Sweden to the U.S., marking a new chapter in the family owned company’s growing American expansion and evolving vision for contemporary public spaces.
"Twenty years ago, Richard Muskala and I started Mizetto in a small town in Sweden," said Malin Muskala, CEO and co-founder of Mizetto, in a LinkedIn post. "This autumn, we're packing our lives into suitcases and moving to the United States. It's exciting. It's a little terrifying. And it feels exactly right.
"Building a company has never been about staying comfortable. It's about staying curious. We believe the best relationships are built face to face. That's why we're moving closer, to our customers, our partners and the people shaping tomorrow's workplaces. Sweden will always be home. But, for the next chapter, America is where we want to be."
Mizetto CUT tables are built from heavy, premium planks that carry a "strong, grounding presence that defines the surrounding space," the company says.
CUT, which was presented alongside the acclaimed Enfold seating collection by designer Sami Kallio, reflects what the Muskala's say is a "broader evolution of the Mizetto universe: from individual objects to complete spatial experiences shaped by materiality, softness and human interaction."
The new CUT line reflects a more architectural direction; a table shaped by nature. Developed in-house, CUT is a solid wood table shaped by the natural geometry of the tree itself. Instead of imposing form onto the material, the design preserves the timber’s original contours, creating a sculptural presence that feels both raw and refined. Crafted from wide FSC-certified wooden planks and manufactured in Sweden, CUT is designed for long-term use across hospitality, workplace, dining and shared public environments.
“The CUT table we have in the kitchen and dining area of our home in Småland, Sweden, is actually the final design that went into production,“ says Richard Muskala. “We use it every day with our family, and I think that’s why it feels so natural across different environments. We never wanted it to feel overly corporate or overly domestic. The best spaces today blur those boundaries - and CUT was designed to live comfortably within both worlds.”
While rooted in Scandinavian craftsmanship traditions, CUT introduces a more tactile and expressive dimension to Mizetto’s growing portfolio, one that reflects the company’s ambition to shape entire environments rather than isolated furniture pieces.
Mizetto, the founder's say, explores how materiality, seating and spatial flow can interact more holistically within public interiors. “Today, people expect public spaces to feel more human and emotionally connected,” says Malin Muskala. “What makes CUT interesting to us is its ability to move seamlessly between private and public environments. It has the warmth of a residential piece, but also the architectural presence and durability needed for hospitality and workplace spaces."
Originally developed as a flexible seating series, Enfold has become one of Mizetto’s most recognized collections thanks to its playful expression and ability to move effortlessly between residential warmth and highly functional public environments.
With production remaining in Sweden and a continued focus on long-term sustainability, modularity and local craftsmanship, Mizetto continues to bridge Scandinavian design culture with a growing global audience, creating furniture and environments designed not only for function, but for emotional connection and human interaction.
CUT is available at Mizetto.com and showcased in Mizetto’s showrooms in Chicago, and in Stockholm. CUT is available in multiple finishes. Pricing (excluding VAT) starting from $16,000 (USD).
