GAYSIANS wins the 2026 Lammy Award for LGBTQ+ Comics

Article excerpt

Mike Curato's semi-autobiographical graphic novel GAYSIANS has won the 2026 Lammy Award for LGBTQ+ Comics. The book, which explores Curato's experiences as a gay Filipino-American, previously earned a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Graphic Novel. The Lammy Awards, presented by the Lambda Literary Foundation, recognize exceptional LGBTQ+ literature across multiple genres and categories. GAYSIANS joins a growing body of graphic novels that center queer Asian-American voices and narratives in mainstream publishing.
