Brad Keselowski faces big challenge with poor starting spot at Sonoma

Article excerpt

Brad Keselowski is facing a big challenge with a poor starting spot for the NASCAR Cup Series race at Sonoma Raceway in 2026.

Brad Keselowski is facing a major challenge after qualifying for the NASCAR Cup Series race at Sonoma Raceway. Keselowski will roll off the grid in 35th place, only ahead of Cody Ware for the Cup Series event on Sunday. This comes after a very poor effort in qualifying on Saturday.

There is no denying that road courses have been very difficult for the RFK Racing driver, and starting in 35th place won't help his case. Keselowski has fallen to 19th place in the standings despite having only a 13-point deficit to the Chase bubble. Unfortunately, it might get worse on Sunday.

Keselowski has suffered a disastrous four-race stretch that has put him down in the standings. Most of the finishes were not his fault, but he has to survive Sonoma within touching distance of the Chase bubble. With a 35th-place starting spot, it will take a lot of work for Keselowski this weekend.
