Detroit Lions signing Super Bowl-winning, veteran LB Troy Reeder

As an added boost to its defense prior to training camp, the Detroit Lions are reportedly signing seven-year NFL veteran and Super Bowl-winning linebacker Troy Reeder. Reeder's agency, EnterSports Management, made the announcement on Monday.

Reeder, 31, has spent six of his seven years in the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams after entering the league as an undrafted free agent with the Rams in 2019. The 6-foot-3, 234-pound linebacker also spent one season with the crosstown Los Angeles Chargers in 2022, before returning to the Rams.

Reeder appeared in all 17 regular-season games with one start last season, playing primarily on the Rams' special teams. Reeder registered 25 tackles and a pair of passes defended.

Including the postseason, Reeder logged 394 special teams snaps. The Delaware Blue Hen totaled 85 defensive snaps last season.

Across his entire career, Reeder has appeared in 106 games with 38 starts, recording 335 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 12 passes defended, eight quarterback hits, five sacks, three forced fumbles and two interceptions.

Detroit also offers a reunion of sorts as Lions general manager Brad Holmes was the Rams' director of college scouting when he signed Reeder as an undrafted free agent.
