The USMNT’s World Cup dream has finally come to an end and has caused serious debate over the future of US soccer.
Making it through to the last 16 was an achievement for the USMNT, but they met their match when they came up against Belgium in Seattle.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team were torn apart by Rudi Garcia’s men following the debacle surrounding Folrain Balogun’s lifted suspension.
Some are making the argument that the USMNT exited the tournament at the first time of playing a team of any real quality.

Chad Johnson shares why USA will struggle to dominate in soccer
The United States certainly has the financial power to improve the nation’s future in the world of soccer.
When asked whether NFL athletes would improve the USMNT, Ocho Cinco hit back with an emphatic response.
“Absolutely not, it takes more than athletic ability to dominate, you take our best athletes & put them in the favelas or European infrastructure from 4 years old we would be able to compete & look like we belong, dominate is a bit far fetched,” said Johnson on X.
The USMNT has inspired the next generation of soccer fans after putting on some impressive displays over the last few weeks.
However, Monday was a reality check in highlighting the gulf between the USMNT and some of the top European nations.
On the back of the defeat in Seattle, European soccer fans have mocked the USMNT and their fans.
There is a long way to go before the US are able to truly compete at the top end of soccer, but this summer has shown some promising signs for the future.
