Article excerpt

The Exposure One Photography Awards showcased 11 striking images that capture the power of black-and-white photography. From dramatic landscapes to intimate portraits, the winning and finalist entries demonstrate how monochromatic imagery can distill complex scenes to their visual essence. The competition, which recognizes excellence in fine art photography, highlights work that relies on composition, contrast, and tone rather than color to create emotional impact. These images span diverse subjects and styles, proving that black-and-white remains a vital medium for contemporary photographers seeking to challenge viewers' perceptions.

Our world exists in vibrant color, but seeing it in black and white can be moving. The Exposure One Awards celebrate monochrome beauty.
