Making an autonomous boat to cross the Atlantic
Article excerpt
Adafruit Forums user Autonomous_Sailboat has built an autonomous motorboat to test a navigation system for an even more ambitious autonomous sailboat.
Big-picture-wise, my ultimate goal is to successfully complete the MicroTransat Challenge. The MicroTransat has been in operation since about 2008 to find out who can be the first to build a boat measuring less than 2.4 meters long that successfully crosses the Atlantic Ocean.
It’s an impressive build, including a completely scratch-built boat hull and Adafruit electronics.
